How we actually make button badges

If you've never seen a badge press machine work, here's the honest version — no marketing spin.

Step 1: Artwork preparation You send us your logo, photo, or design. We check bleed, resolution (minimum 300 DPI at final size), and colour profile. Most files arrive in JPG, PNG, PDF, AI, or CDR — the last one is common in India because most designers still use CorelDraw. We send a digital mock-up within 3–4 hours for approval.

Step 2: Printing For volumes above 2,000 pieces, we print offset — better colour accuracy, sharper edges, lower per-piece cost. For smaller runs, digital printing on 130 GSM art paper gives us flexibility and speed. Photo prints get a special coated paper for skin-tone fidelity.

Step 3: Die-cutting Printed sheets go through a hydraulic die-cutter set to the target size. Each size uses a different die block. This is where cheap suppliers cut corners — using worn dies leaves rough edges you'll feel on the badge rim.

Step 4: Pressing The paper insert, tin plate front, mylar film (BOPP), and steel back plate stack up in the badge press. One press cycle takes about 2 seconds. A trained operator can produce 800–1,000 finished badges per hour on a single machine. We run five machines in parallel during peak season.

Step 5: Quality control Every 20th badge gets inspected for pin function, mylar smoothness, image alignment, and rim finish. Rejected pieces are removed and remade. Our reject rate sits around 1.2% — industry average is closer to 3%.

Step 6: Packing and dispatch Badges are bubble-wrapped in bundles of 50, packed in corrugated boxes, and picked up by courier the same evening. You get a tracking number on WhatsApp before the truck leaves.

Straight talk on cost. These are indicative per-piece rates for 44mm round safety-pin button badges — the most common configuration. Prices vary with size, back type, print method, and material grade.

For 58mm, add roughly ₹1.50–2.50 per piece. For 75mm, add ₹4–5. Magnet backs add ₹10–15. GST at 18% is charged separately on the invoice.

MOQ is 100 pieces. We know competitors advertise "no MOQ" but quietly refuse anything under 250. We don't.

Sample policy: one free sample badge with your artwork if the confirmed order exceeds 1,000 pieces. Below that, samples are ₹200 (adjusted against final order).
